Summer is Officially Over

Well...it's Official - Summer is Over :(

Avery started school on Monday so that means, waking up earlier, no slumbering around in the mornings, and starting our new schedule. Who am I fooling, almost 1 week from today Summer would be over anyways with the baby set to arrive.

Though I'm sad to see the Summer end, I am so happy about the memories we created this Summer and the time I got to spend with Avery. When we were thinking of getting pregnant I told Tim that no matter what, I really wanted to be able to spend the whole summer with Avery by herself without a little one in tow. I am so happy that it ended up working out that way because it was such a special summer for me with her.

Some of my favorite memories of this summer:

Swimming, swimming, swimming with Avery everywhere especially at Lifetime and at Darmi and Poppy's. She has become a little fish and I am so excited to see how well she swims next summer too!

Spending time with all of our family and friends for birthdays, holidays and for no reason at all except to enjoy one another's company

Brian and Mollye getting engaged :)

Chick-fil-A lunches - I should buy stock in this company!

Babymoon in Wimberley

TBJ Camp and and Camp at Apple Creek

Riding the Train, Merry-Go-Round at the Mall and running errands with my little shopper

Watching Avery dance and sing for Tim and I at night

Wonderful Baby Shower for the New Baby

Celebrating 8 years of a fabulous marriage to my sweet hubby Tim

Lounging around and doing nothing because we have nowhere that we have to be!

All of that being said, I am so excited for the Fall and the new chapter we are about to embark on in our family! I can't believe the baby will be here by next Thursday the latest and I am trying to relish each day until she arrives with Tim and Avery. This Fall is going to be so busy with the baby coming next week, the Holidays fast approaching and 1 super special wedding in January. I can't wait for it all to begin!! I'll keep you all posted and updated on what's going on in our lives and please do the same for us!!

My Fav pic from this Summer:

1st Day of 3-Year Old Class Preschool

I can't believe my girl started her 2nd year of preschool this week! It was a TOTALLY different experience then last year and in a good, but sort of sad for Mommy way. She is so happy and confident in her surroundings at TBJ that she was super-excited to go on Monday and didn't even hesitate once we got there. I even had to remind her to give me a hug and kiss before she went in to class when we arrived! You know what though, it was much better than her clinging to me and crying and not wanting to go back like last year. But sometimes, just briefly, you want that for a second, nah, not really!

Quick pics at home before we left...baby made the photos here too. They are really pushing for the kids to wear socks with shoes this year so hopefully I can get her to go along with it. 1st day so far so good!

Backpack on and ready to walk in to school:

Such a Big Girl though her backpack kind of dwarfs her in this pic :)

Like I said previously, I had to ask he for a quick hug and kiss before she went in because she was so excited. And, I got a quick pic of her in front of the bear sign next to her classroom. We'll have to take one on the last day of school too to see how much she grows this year.

School lets out the 1st week at noon to get everyone acclimated so she wanted to go have lunch with a couple of her classmates but they already had plans. And, of course she wanted to go to Chick-fil-A so we called up Tim and he met us to celebrate her 1st day!

I scooted over to her side for a quick pic myself...I had to get one of her with me on the 1st day too!!

Go Wildcats!

P-P-P-L-A, A-A-A-N-O, PLANO, PLANO, PLANO, OKAY!

Friday Night we had no plans so we looked up the football schedule for Plano and saw that they were playing their 1st home game so we ate a quick dinner and took Avery to see the Wildcat's in action. Tim has been wanting to take her for quite awhile, but we didn't think she would like it last year...it's amazing what a difference a year can make!

Here they are walking up to the "new" stadium...I say new because they've totally redone the home field side from when we went to school at Plano.

We didn't have tickets and the line was so long that we headed over to the visitors side to buy tickets and then walk back over once inside. Well, something else that is new to the stadium is that you can't walk over from side to side once you are in the stadium. I don't know if they enforce this rule all the time or when it's just a small team visiting but that was what was so much fun when I would go to the games and watch Tim. Being able to sit on the lawn at the end zones or go see friends from other schools.

We booked it back over to the Plano side and on the way got to see the drill team practicing. Avery really liked their dance outifts :)

We ended up sitting right near the band and Avery kept watching them throughout the game. She also shook her "Paw" with every song and pretty much did it the whole time we were there. She had such a blast watching the game, the band, the replays on the new jumbo-tron, the drill team on the field, the other team's band and drill team, etc. There was a lot to look at!!

We'll definitely be back for another game soon!!

Super-Cute Dance Bags

Nana made Avery and Cissy the cutest dance bags ever for them to put their tap and ballet shoes in for dance class. She is so, so talented it's amazing!! I can hardly sew a button on :)

Here they are showing off their new cute bags while at Nana's playing today.

Here they are coloring together in their coloring books and the Strawberry Shortcake pages Nana printed for them

Then they went on a stroll with their baby dolls since the weather was so great out today

And, they brought their bags with them too...of course!

Avery took our pic too!

1st Haircut!!

Today we took Avery to get her 1st Haircut ever!! I've been nervous to get her haircut because I was really worried that once they trimmed up her hair the curls would be gone, but seeing how it's never been trimmed and it's been damaged from the sun and swimming all summer long...it was definitely time. The ends looked like a Barbie Doll's hair after a little girl has brushed it over and over again.

We took her to Sweet & Sassy (a little girl's paradise) at Willowbend because the one by our house closed suddenly a few weeks ago. Bummer :(

The girl that cut her hair was so nice and actually talked like she knew what she was doing so that was very encouraging. Avery even let her lead her over to the hair chair:

Sitting in the chair while Victoria put a movie on for her...this is royal treatment I tell you!

Doesn't she look so excited ;)

Now she's officially ready with her Sassy Diva cape...I should buy her one of those to wear around the house sometimes.

1st snip...there's no going back now

All finished and I swear it is curlier than it was before and it looks so much healthier...it's hard to tell from these photos, but it's better.

Then, they added glitter spray to her hair and Strawberry and Cupcake scented spray...she smells delicious

A lollipop and sparkle heart and star for her cheek sealed the deal. We'll be back in 8 weeks!

Dance Class...the 1st of Many

Now that Avery has turned "3" she can start dance classes and seeing how she LOVES to dance it has been so exciting to get her ready for her 1st dance class. I signed her up at a studio that my childhood dance instructor owns and she will be teaching her as well as one of her students. We took her to get all her dance gear - tap shoes, ballet shoes, leotard and tights and she had a blast picking everything out. She loves to "tap" around the house in her new shoes.

Here she is at Mom and Dad's after we got her shoes. There's no taking these babies off!

The day of her 1st class she was so excited when she woke up that she didn't even eat breakfast. She wanted to put on all her dance stuff and get going. Seeing as the class didn't start until 11:00 I had to stall a little.

All ready for class:

I wanted to get some quick, cute shots of her outside near the house but she was just not having it and since it was a 1,000 degrees outside already, we left to run our errands before class. All I really wanted was "1" smile but that was totally not happening!!

Look how grouchy she is:

Her hair looks so cute though :)

Our errands were actually quicker than I anticipated so we ran by the office to see Poppy and show off our dance outfit. He was really surprised!

Here she is waiting for her class to start. She looked at me and told me "I can smile now Mommy, but I couldn't smile when we were outside. Sorry." At least she gets it :)

I tried to stay and watch her at the beginning but she could see me through the glass and kept waving at me and smiling so big because she was so excited to be there!! I felt bad distracting her so I left and got in my car with tears in my eyes...she is getting so big and I can't stop it not that I really want to because I so enjoy this time with her, but it is starting to move a little too fast for me. I did come back a bit early to watch the end of class and snap off a few pics and they were just finishing up ballet, tap was the first part of class.

When we got home, back on went her tap shoes and she was dancing once again!

Then her ballet shoes while she figured out what song she was going to dance to on the receiver.
*Just a side note, Avery has figure out how to work the receiver and CD player as well as the iTouch. If you are looking for some dance music, come on over to our house...Avery has her set list all set up and it includes A LOT of Tim and I's music. Only 2 kids CD's make it through the rotation. I'll have to upload her favorite songs sometime on another post.

Dancing Away

The morning ended with her reading stories to her school friends in the living room. I can't wait to see what this next week's class is like for her!
