These Girls Have it Good!!

Heather and I took Avery and Kinley to see Toy Story 3 this morning. We had been planning on doing something and since the weather has been kind of yucky, we decided to take them to the movies. They were so excited to go!!

We had to get their pic next to the movie ad...why can't they both smile at the same time :)

Here they are in their seats. They were both sitting on the edge for awhile before Heather and I told them they could sit back and relax. They did so good in the theater and watched the whole thing even the credits at the end. It was a cute story!! Avery couldn't stop talking about Ken and Barbie on the way home in the car. She kept telling me that Barbie was not very nice to Ken and was ripping up his clothes. I told her that she wasn't either but she was just trying to save her friends. She now wants to see a Barbie movie!!

After the movie the girls got 2 rides on the Merry-Go-Round in the mall. Don't they look so cute...they couldn't contain their excitement!!

Hey smiley...

On the 2nd ride around we got them to sit next to each other

After the Merry-Go-Round we headed over to PB kids to check out some of the things they have right now for the baby. And, of course the girls had to play with everything they had in the store.

To finish off the morning, we ate a yummy lunch of Chick-fil-A. Seriously, these girls (both kiddos and Mommies) have it good! Had to throw that in about the Mommies too :)

I Am So Thankful!!

When Tim and I started talking about having a 2nd baby last year, there were a couple things I wanted to do before we got pregnant.

One was to celebrate the Holidays with our family and friends and not have to stress about keeping a pregnancy secret during such an event filled time of the year.

The other was to make sure that when we did get pregnant, the baby would not be coming until after the summer was over. I wanted to have this summer to spend with Avery alone and really get the chance to enjoy everything that the summer has to offer with her.

Yesterday made me realize how happy I am that as of this moment we are able to enjoy this time together. Avery and I had such a wonderful morning and afternoon yesterday and all I could keep thinking about was how thankful I was to have this time with my daughter before her sister arrives in a couple of months. We joined Lifetime for the summer to take advantage of their pool and she just loves it there. She really enjoys playing in the kiddo area while I work out and of course loves swimming! We spent a good part of the morning there together just swimming and laughing and enjoying ourselves. It makes me so happy to see her big brown eyes light up and hear her little girl giggle...I got that a lot yesterday :) After the pool and a slushie from the Cafe, we headed over to Chick-fil-A and picked up our lunch and brought it home. We sat together at the table and just chatted all through lunch before heading upstairs for a nap.

I told Tim last night that yesterday was the kind of day that I had been hoping to have with Avery this summer without having a baby to look after as well. I know that once the baby gets here Avery and I's time together will be different but for the moment I appreciate the time I get to spend with her one on one right now. It truly means the world to me!!

Fun Night Out!

We got to enjoy a grown-up night out with some of our favorite people on Saturday night. I think it's been such a long time since Tim and I have been to Dallas so it was fun to get a little dressed up - I haven't worn jeans in forever and I had a new shirt on! The little things matter to me right now since I'm starting to feel giant :)

The girls side of the table - we are so cute!

The boys side of the table - so goofy...typical boys!

A walrus joined our crew for a short time

Check out my ride...I couldn't help but spring for the Louis Vuitton leather on this baby!

Kristen thought she could take on Brian in a little arm wrestling competition - good luck girlie, take him down!

Brian looks a little bored :)

Mollye got in on the action too

Then I jumped in too

And again with Kristen

Watch out people...we are a tough family ;)

Happy Father's Day!

This year our Father's Day started earlier in the week with a delicious dinner with the Lairsen's at one of my favorite restaurants...Patrizio's. This wasn't necessarily intended as a Father's Day gift...but we so enjoyed ourselves that it turned into one of Tim's Father's Day gifts!! Why you might ask that it turned into a gift because between the 3 bottles of wine that were finished, the super yummy crab claws they serve and the rest of our meal - it was a wonderfully nice gift for Tim!! Plus, what a great way to start our fantastic weekend!

Stop talking politics boys!!

Saturday night we met Kitty & Rich at Aboca's for another delicious meal to celebrate Rich's win for this March Madness...he's been doing pretty great the past few years. I know, I know, it's June, but the point is that we are celebrating the win even if it is a few months later! One year I will beat him instead of coming in 2nd :) After dinner, we headed back to our house and while Kitty and I ran to the grocery store for some last minute things for Sunday's BBQ, Tim and Rich lit up a couple of the Cubans my parents brought back from their trip and finished off the bottle of wine started at dinner. What a nice evening. I know the boys really enjoyed themselves...sitting on the patio, listening to some good tunes, smoking some cigars and drinking some red wine. What better way to enjoy your Father's Day weekend.

Lookin' tough

On Sunday, as has been the tradition in the past, all the guys started off the day with some Whirly Ball. The teams were Dads (Steve, Rich, Don & Tim) against Non-Dads (Brian, Mike & Kevin). Avery and I went up to watch the face-off and she really enjoyed it.

Tim excited to see us.

This is one of my favorite pics...high-fiving Daddy after the game!

After Whirly Ball, we all headed over to Mom and Dad's for a pool party and BBQ with the rest of our crew. We had such a good time and how can you not when you have good food, good drinks, and especially good company!!

The diving board definitely got a lot of use - more than it's seen since we were in school probably!!

Come on baby...splash us!

The girls getting in on the action...here goes Avery

Cissy too!

Papa's in on it!

Go Riley!

Connor going for the front flip...Awesome!! I remember when I could do that. Not this year, but maybe I'll try next :)
