Happy Birthday Poppy!

It's Poppy's birthday...he's 21 this year - doesn't he look great for his age :) We surprised Avery at school and all of us picked her up and went to Baskin Robbins to have ice cream to celebrate Poppy's birthday. It was so yummy. How does Poppy always end up paying though??

Avery took some pics too!

Girls Weekend...When the Boy is Away, The Girls will Play!

Last Thursday, Tim left town with Brandon Lairsen and some other boys and headed up to Arkansas to do some canoeing and camping leaving Ms. Avery and I to a long weekend together! We were busy the whole time, but were really excited to have Daddy back yesterday.

Of course I missed him alot - that's a given :), but Avery really missed her Daddy this time! She asked about him alot during the day and especially at night when she wanted him to come up and rub her back before bed. She was super happy to have him home yesterday before nap and even took the best nap since he left. It's so amazing to watch their relationship grow and get stronger...they are Best Buds :)

Thursday morning we headed out to the Wiggly play center with Shea and Alicia and the girls had so much fun playing. Avery loves the coin machines the best so I had to keep telling her I ran out of money...she didn't believe me - smart girl!

Here are the girls riding the horsey..."Yee-Haw"!

and the tiny Merry-Go-Round

Then, just as we were about to leave, Dorothy the Dinosaur came out and sang and danced with the kiddos. Avery was loving it and was jumping and dancing around.

Friday night Avery spent the night at Darmi and Poppy's and I met up with Brian, Mollye, Kristen, Kevin, Mike and a bunch of their friends to celebrate Brian and his friend, Elliott's, birthdays. We met up at Mattito's for some super yummy Mexican food and birthday cake (thanks Mollye!).

Happy Birthday Boys!!

After Mattito's - I drove Mollye, Brian, Kristen and Kevin over to another bar, this DD thing is sure coming in handy for all of them :) Thanks Kristen for being a sport and sitting in Avery's seat :)

Saturday, we met up with Heather, Kim Dandy, Kinley and Kale at the Carson and Barnes Big Top Circus in Allen. The girls really enjoyed looking at all the animals and they even had elephant, camel and pony rides. We told them they could ride them after the circus since the show was close to starting. I'd never been to a "traveling" circus before and had no idea what to expect. It was A LOT of performances that were fun to watch and the girls liked them, but they had No animals the 1st half and the girls were getting antsy to see the animals so we split after intermission and the girls got to ride the ponies a couple of times. If you ask them how the circus was they'll tell you that they got to ride the ponies...hopefully the next circus will have some more animal acts.

That is a Big Elephant!

These people were crazy!

Riding the ponies...the highlight of the afternoon :)

Sunday Morning we woke up and headed over to Darmi and Poppy's for some doughnuts and milk - Yummy!

Later that night we had dinner at Grimaldi's and ice cream at Paciugo's - Delicious. My camera stopped working, dead battery, but I'd say we had a great weekend just the 2 of us but it's definitely nice to have Tim back!!

Random Photos from the Past Few Months

I've been going through my old photos from the past couple months that don't seem to fit in any one specific Blog so I'm throwing them all in this one. Trying to do some Spring cleanup :) Let's see what we have:

Definitely cold and going somewhere...have to bring our purse with us. I think this was the only time she wore this hat too. Avery isn't very into wearing hats - she gets that from me!

The weekend of Brandon's birthday, they all came over on Sunday night for a quick drop-in and some cupcakes. We found some of my old "glasses" from the 80's so Tim and Avery put them on to open the door when the Lairsen's walked in. I think we can bring this style back...what do you think??

My cutie!

This was taken some time after/around Christmas because we used our giftcards to Maggiano's and it was so yummy!! Tim and I find that sometimes the best pictures we take are when we take them ourselves :)

Do you think we look alike?? Everyone seems to think so but I definitely see Tim in her too!

I wish this wasn't so fuzzy...I LOVE this pic

Having tea with Sissy at Nana's...girls are you supposed to playing with that??

Okay, clearly from the previous picture we must have been going somewhere because here she is with her hat and purse but now she's talking on the phone.

Lunch at Darmi and Poppy's

Lunch at Chuck E. Cheese with Shea. See Chuck E. Cheese in the background in that booth...that was a good enough distance for the girls. Later the costumed Chuck E. Cheese walked around and the girls were Not Okay with that!

What Avery would look like with pierced ears

Hanging with Kristen at Nana and Papa's - Kristen kneeled to get down with Avery so Avery took a knee too ;)

Testing out Daddy's new work chair

That's all for now folks!
