Into the Meadow

Every year, the non-profit Tim is part of puts on an event called Into the Meadow.  It's an evening outside in the land across the street in Connemara.  It's a moonlit dinner under the stars with no lights, just moonlight and candles.  It was such a wonderful evening!

It started out with the most delicious watermelon drink at the entrance to the pecan grove.  They had the MOST AMAZING appetizers circling around before dinner.  Seriously, I pretty much got full on them bcuz I could not pass up the trays as they came by.

See, look at us, food and drink and each other - I can't really ask for more :)

Check out this little bite of yumminess...I could have eaten the whole platter of these kale stuffed treats.

Everyone sitting down to dinner before the sun set.

The Menu

Um, let's see, I'm not a big fan of tomatoes though I married a man who loves them but let me tell you, this salad was one of the best tomato salads I've ever eaten!  It just so happened that the seat across was empty and how could I let that beautiful salad go to waste...yes, I ate both and loved every bite.  Good thing bcuz the main course was just so-so in my opinion.

And the darkness settles around us...

New School Playground

Last year, Avery's elementary school raised enough $$$ to put in a new playground for the kiddos.  You should see how big the new structure is next to the old one.  Yea for Aves that she gets to use this new wonderful playground.  We went to the inauguration of it when school started and the girls had a blast!

Home Depot Kids

The girls and I went up to Home Depot to do their kid craft one Saturday morning.  Avery loves doing their projects they have and they get a pin to put on their apron for every one they do.  Even when we "cheat" and bring it home to do you still get a pin so that's total incentive for this chick.

Screwdrivers and 5-year olds aren't the best combo. Good thing you have to have a parent there with you!

Ella just liked mixing the paint together and painting on the table.  Avery was a little more meticulous.

And, about right for a toddlers attention span.  Doing what she does best...EAT!

Still working on her goalpost

And, more food

Finished! And, like Ella has been saying lately, So Buutiful!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is one of my Favorite holidays of the year!  I love having our whole family over to our house to celebrate.  There's always such yummy food, delicious drinks :), and the BEST company!!

The girls always start out our day watching the Thanksgiving Day parade.  We tape it and watch it over and over and over and over again!

Anybody care for a sample?

The kiddos starting the meal off

Here are some of the decorations Avery made this year.  She loves making stuff for everyone every year.  This year she did these cute place cards and placemats.  I just love her!

And, here's the "Thanks"giving book she made at school.

Norton Fall Festival

Avery's school had their Fall Festival on a Friday night where they had a chili cook-off, dessert contest,  games and fun for all the kids.  It was a great Friday night family night and then after it was over Tim took Avery to watch the Allen Eagles play in the new stadium.  She is one lucky girl!

Avery was pretty excited to be out there too!

Here she is with the BEST!! Kindergarten teacher you could ask for your child to have to start off their "Big" school career.  I can't tell you how happy and thankful we are to have her as Avery's teacher :)

So, you know how most little ones are so scared of these costumed animals?  Not this one...she wants to go right up to them and give them a big hug.  I love it!

One of the games they had was to push a basketball with a broom.  The girls really tried but well, you know.

And, what festival would not be complete without a bounce house!
