Graduation Weekend

2 Weekend's Ago, we had 2 graduation parties. We are so proud of Cassie for getting her Masters and Brett for getting his degree too! It made for a great weekend :)

1st we celebrated Cassie's graduation on Saturday by going out to the Capitol Pub in Dallas. Before the bar we met up with Nathan & Kelli for dinner at Park Restaurant in Dallas. It's a new, up and coming restaurant that had really yummy food and a great atmosphere. The weather was so nice so we sat out on the patio which was first come first serve even though there was an hour+ wait inside. Instead of taking 2 cars a 1/4 of a mile to the Pub, all 4 of us jumped onto Nathan & Kelli's side car motorcycle and headed to the bar...we're crazy I know, but it was so much fun!!

We love to play darts and lucky us, they had dart boards there so Tim and I took on Nathan and Kelli. Check out this "Double Bullsize" Nathan shot...seriously, a one in a million shot! Tim and I said "no way it could count because it wasn't touching the board" - testing our competitive side, so Nathan brought a patron over to give her opinion. Apparently he didn't sweet talk her enough because she said it didn't count either :( What do you think??

Cassie & Tim goofing off:

Congratulations Cass...I'm so proud of you - welcome to the real world :)

All 5 of us:

The Girls...about to play a never-ending game of darts!

Our 2nd party was on Sunday at Maggiano's...one word - YUMMY!! I love this place and if you don't love it too, you may as well stop reading this blog :) It was a really nice event to celebrate Brett graduating from UNT. The food was delicious and I must have eaten 3 plates - appetizer size plates, but I piled it on especially since they had my favorite, mushroom ravioli. If you've never eaten this and love mushrooms, you HAVE to try it. It is so, so good...maybe Tim will take me there tonight...

Just a couple pics of us with our friends:

Buddies!

Avery & Sissy got to hang out just the 2 of them at Nana's the other week. They loved every minute of it...so did Nana!!

They talked on the phone together, to Papa, to each other, to who knows who else...I can see that we are in for a big phone bill with these 2 - we better start saving now :)

Here they are getting ready for their 1st sleepover together. It hasn't happened yet, but don't they just look so cute together in their tent?? It's a perfect fit!

Each of them has a stroller and baby doll over at Nana's and they were racing back and forth along the hallway with each other.

And, here they are enjoying lunch together. Macaroni and cheese and I'm sure ice cream for dessert...what could be better!

Gymnastics

Every day Avery wakes up and asks me "Where are We Going Mommy"?? So, I in return ask her "Where are We Going Avery"?? Here are a few common replies I get from her -
1) the Beach - we are going to have to get this girl there sooner than later because it is ALL she talks about!! she walks around the house with her shovels saying she wants to make sandcatsles and asking us "Mommy/Daddy I want to go to beach" all day :) finally tim told her "As Soon As We Can". Now she says "Mommy I want to go to beach as soon as we can"!
2) gymnaaaastics
3) darmi & poppy's and/or nanny & poppy's.

Seriously, it is only 1 of these every day...this child is definitely consistent!

When we go to gymnastics, she loves the trampoline which they do first thing:

They teach them everything from doing forward rolls - she has to say "salute" before she does one and it usually comes out something like, "schshute" - to "cartwheels", "handstands", etc. They play in the pit and she loves the running trampoline.

They always have a couple of circuits which includes bars, slide, and this time - the balance beam. I'd like to have you guys think she is saying "I'm Doing it All by Myself", but in reality she just wants me to hold her hand :)

Then they race and finally end with stickers and stamps...who doesn't love stickers and stamps?? I'll tell you, I think the main goal is to tire these cuties out!

And, when we are not at gymnastics, we like to "practice" at home!

Avery and Her Shovels

I don't know if we'll ever get Avery to put away her shovels. She carries them with her everywhere...in the car, at home, at other peoples homes - not a baby doll or lovey, but her shovels. Looks like we have a beach baby with no daily beach :( Maybe someday sweetheart!

Laying them all out in a row and counting them

Tim's Headlamp

Tim was cleaning out the cabinet in the garage and found some of his camping gear including his headlamp. He brought it in and fitted it to Ms. Avery's head and she was having a ball walking around the house with it. Looks like Tim has found a new camping partner!!

"Mommy, there's a spot on the ceiling you need to retouch!"

"Hello!"

"Checking out the bottom of her foot. I don't think she found anything too interesting!"

"Walking around the house."
