It's only the 2nd time we've been at the pool for the summer and she's already found the diving board!! Just like her Daddy :) Looking forward to a super-fun summer of swimming with Ms. Avery!!
Someone is finally taking care of Poppy's pool!!

Baby Crib
I know it's a little early...but, I am in total nesting mode this week. I don't know if it's because I have yet to do 1 thing for this baby but I feel like I need to start getting everything ready and done soon. Maybe it's because normally I'm such a planner and since we are having our 2nd girl I feel like I have everything already - but I don't!!
On Tuesday this week during Avery's nap I took down the guest bed in the front bedroom and moved it into the middle room to make way for the crib to go back up in that room. I LOVE my new guest bedroom. I put up the valance that I used in Avery's old room, a lamp I had used for her and several pictures I have yet to use in this house. Not done yet, but pretty close in there. I'll have to take a pic and post it next time. Tim was surprised when he got home :)) No need to get on me about not moving things while pregnant...already heard them from my parents and Tim, but when I get something in my head it's hard for me to stop...I'm on a mission people!!
After nap yesterday, Avery and I decided to put up the baby's crib (her old crib). I thought this might be a little bothersome to her but she's actually pretty excited that the baby will be sleeping in it. She keeps going upstairs to see "her baby's" room. It's pretty cute :)
Avery was totally into it with all the tools...she was such a good helper :)
Here she is with the side pieces.
Using her screwdriver to pretend! She loved all our tools...several screwdrivers and wrenches!

Happy 3rd Birthday Sweet Avery
How is it possible that my baby is turning "3" today!
Two of my most favorite moments of my day are in the morning and at night. In the mornings, I love crawling into bed with her to wake her up and laying next to her little body and smelling her sweet little girl smell and hearing her say "Good Morning" to me in her soft sleepy voice. And at night, I love snuggling her into bed and looking into those big brown eyes and singing the same Good Night song my Mom used to sing to me every night when I was a little girl. The best is that she has started to sing it with me and knows every word!
I so look forward to continuing to watch my princess grow into an amazing little girl and woman. Thank you Avery Jordan for coming into our lives and making our lives that much more richer and fuller.
I love you so much and wish you a very Happy 3rd Birthday!!
Wasn't it just yesterday that Tim and I brought this precious bundle home with us?? I remember putting her in this outfit before we left the hospital...0-3 months and it being so BIG on her! I had no idea how much this little girl would change our lives forever!
And, I look at her now and I think to myself, where has the time gone??
In these 3 short years she has grown into such an amazing little person! She always has a smile on her face and is such a good sport in every situation. She has the best expressions - I wish I could bottle them up and pull them out whenever I wanted. And that killer smile that lights up her whole face is something I live for. Avery has such a love for life and she brightens my day each and every day.

Happy ** Birthday to Me!
Happy Birthday to Me! Happy Birthday to Me!! Happy Birthday to Julie!! Happy Birthday to Me!
I had a fabulous birthday this year...loved it so much I celebrated all week :) Isn't that what you're supposed to do?? My birthday landed on a Tuesday so Mom, Dad, Mollye, Brian, Tim, Avery and I headed up to Grimaldi's in our neighborhood for some yummy pizza, salads, cake and wine...I heard the wine was really yummy too but I'll have to have some next year instead :)
One day we will all be looking and smiling at the camera!
Brian and Mollye
I had to have one of me and my Man...I know I'm pretty biased but I think we're a pretty da*n good looking couple - Hands Off Ladies!
Avery was so hungry she said she was getting tired and wanted to take a nap so she laid her head down on the table - such a silly girl :)
Mollye & Brian brought this super delicious cake from Central Market. Chocolate lovers eat your heart out!!
Saturday night Tim and I went out for another yummy meal at one of our favorite restaurants Mama Emilia's in McKinney on the Square. I think it was the biggest meal we have eaten in a long time and every bite of it was so good. I was just so sad that we had to leave some of our Tiramisu on the plate. If any of you love Tiramisu like we do, I swear this is the best one in town...my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Sunday, Kristen and Kevin had everyone over for a bar-b-que at their place. Let me tell you...Kristen and Kevin make great hosts! They just redid their deck out back and bought new patio furniture and we all had such a wonderful time! It was such a nice evening and the food was so delicious again...can you tell I'm pregnant since all I keep talking about is food! We had such a yummy spread of food - 3 types of fish that were so good and grilled to perfection! Tons of mixed grilled veggies, tomato/mozz/basil salad, homemade bread, shrimp cocktail...can't you just taste it right now!
Walking up Avery took a pic of the balloons outside on their lamp post.
They had 2 games set up in the backyard which were super fun...Bags and some other game I can't remember what it's called but there are 3 rails and you try to throw this string that has 2 balls on it to wind around the rails. Um, a little hard but the nice part was that Avery would go pick the strings up and bring them back...our own little caddie.
Unfocused but still a great shot of the beautiful Moms!
See...one day we'll both be looking at the same time
Everyone hanging out...the weather was Gorgeous!!

Fun in the Bluebonnets
For the past few weeks, we've been watching family after family stop off in the medians on Bethany across from the house to take photos in the Bluebonnet patches that have popped up this year. We finally took Avery over there the other evening to get some photos of our own. She loved running through the field and playing! We got a late start after dinner so it started to get pretty dark but I think we got a few great ones.

Dentist Visit
Avery had her 2nd ever Dentist visit today! I tried to be optimistic about it and we talked a little bit about it before we went this morning. Last year, right before her 2nd birthday we went because she had some discoloration from all the medicines she had been on before her surgery so I just wanted to make sure everything was okay and it was a Nightmare visit, but she is older now so I thought it couldn't be that bad this time.
Luckily, my little girl proved me right...she did so WELL at the visit and never shed one tear. I don't give her enough credit on how well she can handle things and how brave she is.
I do know it helped that right when we got there they had a play area for her to hang out in with a mechanical horse, TV and toys:
Then, once inside, she got to pick out her own toothbrush (blue of course) and toothbrush topper. And, she got to pick out her own pair of sunglasses to wear during the visit - purple Snow White sunglasses that she got to keep. Each table had a small TV playing a DVD above it and the sunglasses were so the light they shine on her mouth wouldn't hurt her eyes! I think adult dentists should treat us the way the pediatric dentists treat their patients. I would sure enjoy it much more!!
Then they brushed her teeth with her toothbrush and cherry toothpaste, scraped off some yucky stuff and flossed her teeth. Why don't I brush like they do?? It's like when you handle a baby for the 1st time you try and be so careful but the nurses are throwing the baby around like no big deal. I brush her teeth so carefully and softly while this nurse is scrubbing her gums away :)
Look how tiny she looks on the table...hands splayed and plastered to the chair the whole time even though I took one and held it for the duration of the cleaning :)
Showing off her pretty pearly whites!! She kept telling me before we got there that she wanted her teeth to stay white!
Last time we were there we found out that Avery has an extra tooth so they wanted to do some X-rays to see how the spacing was and if it would eventually need to be pulled. They actually found out that not only does she have 1 extra tooth, but she has another one stuck up in her gums that will probably never come down and that both teeth will have to be taken out by an oral surgeon probably sometime in the next year :( I tried to hold it together for her sake when I heard this because I hate that she will have to go under again, but we'll revisit that when the time comes.
Here she is with her lead apron on before X-rays. I had to leave the room because I'm pregnant but she did great!
While I checked us out she got to get a token and pick a prize out of the machine. Her choice was a dinosaur and wouldn't you know it she got a pink one! The best was that right before we were leaving Avery asked for another toy from the machine and I said we will have to get one next time and she said "I don't want to come back here!!" All the front desk people and I got a good laugh!!
After the visit, showing me all her loot!
