You Tube Friday

A couple nights ago we were playing out back and Tim was watering the trees and started to spray Avery. She thought this was just hilarious so I ran inside and grabbed my video camera. Children's laughter...you can't beat it!

Have a great weekend and next time I post, we'll have a 2-year old on our hands :)

Giggles

Avery's been up in her room in her crib for the past 45 minutes...supposedly going to sleep. I just heard some noises so I checked her monitor thinking she was crying, but no she's up there flopping around in her crib giggling to herself! Got to love her :)

San Diego

We flew to San Diego to spend time with our dear friends the Jaspers. They were so sweet to open their home to us and let us stay with them. We were so excited to take Avery with us to see Lily and play with her in Cali!!

This was her 1st time at the beach and she was not the biggest fan of the sand. It was pretty hilarious how much she disliked it. We'll have to get her used to it since Tim and I are such beach bums :)

Feeling the ocean for the 1st time

not too interested in it yet either :(

The girls taking a bath together - loving Lily's goggles

We spent the morning at Lego Land. It was so fun. The girls had a blast - the parents too!

Back at the beach - a little braver this time. It helps that we have our beach shoes on too!

Playing with bubbles out back

Heading into the zoo

Playing in the dirt out back...nothing better than this

Eating ice cream and listening to some live music . The girls were dancing and having a great time!

Popsicles!

Tim and Courtney ran a half marathon while we were out there the last day. They are so amazing!! We met them at the end to Congratulate them with the girls.

Good job baby!

It's Already Happening

This morning after we picked up Avery, we ran a quick errand and then told her we were going to the store. She loves going to the store because she gets a cookie at the bakery and she gets to pick her color, normally she wants a blue cookie. But, she has started to realize that there are more cookies in the case than the free ones on the top shelf so of course she now wants these cookies instead. The free ones are blue, yellow, pink and sprinkled but today she wanted the brown cookie. This is pretty much how the conversation went on the way to the store:

Me: Avery, what cookie are you going to get?
Avery: Brown cookie
Me: They don't have brown, you can have blue, yellow or pink
Avery: I want brown cookie
Me: No, not the brown cookie, what other color do you want?
Avery: Daddy?
Tim: Yes, Avery
Avery: Brown cookie??
Tim: Okay, Avery.

Clearly Tim had not been listening to Avery and my original conversation, right? What a smart "cookie" she is!!

Friday's at Watters Creek

On Friday nights, we have been going to dinner and then heading up to Watters Creek, our local shopping area, and enjoying their live music. Every week is different and it's so nice to grab some ice cream - there's no getting around this :) and hanging out on the "lawn" listening to the music.

The first night we did this, we took Avery to Spaghetti Warehouse to use the gift card Tim's co-worker gave him. We don't go out to eat alot with her because it just isn't that "fun" for me particularly, but there was so many things for her to see and enjoy that we had a great time. We've been doing it more often and I've been pleasantly surprised! They have a woman that roams around to all the tables making balloon characters and she made a cute bear holding a heart for Avery. Avery loved it and held it the whole evening even as parts of it started to pop :(

Once at Watters Creek we went straight to Paciugo to get Avery some gelato and headed over to listen to music. Whenever we go to Paciugo Avery has to get several spoons because she needs to have one of each color. Here she is with her blue and red spoons:

All the kids are either playing on the ducks or buffalo, playing ball in the lawn or are in the water of the little creek. Avery so badly wanted to go in the water so Tim took her down there and needless to say, they were down there for the rest of the evening. She was having a blast...an older girl even walked her across the creek a couple of times.

A shot of Tim & I enjoying the beautiful weather, our beautiful daughter and the beautiful evening!

You Tube Friday

Happy Friday Everyone!

Here's a video of Ms. Avery that I put together...it's a bunch of random video clips so I hope you enjoy it.

Quick lead-in...

the first clip is Avery asking for the song 1234 by Feist. it is by far and away her favorite song, only song really, that she wants to listen to. and she calls it
2,9! and, i'm sad to say that i think i'm out another ipod becuz she walks around the house all the time with this song on replay on my new one :(

the 3rd clip is her blowing bubbles in the bath...she just figured this one out last week. good thing becuz tim and her start swim lessons tomorrow.

and the 4th clip is avery watching herself on the video while being recorded. our video camera lets you turn the viewfinder any which way and she loves to watch herself :)

Have a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day to all you Fabulous Moms!

Basil

For Easter, Kitty gave me a packet of Basil seeds and a small pot to grow them in for my kitchen. For those of you that know me, I have no green thumb whatsoever and it's something I have come to terms with :) At our old house, my girlfriend from Cali, used to make fun of me for having fake flowers in my hanging baskets outside. That's how bad it is!!
So, after putting off planting my little seedlings I finally planted them when we got back from vacation and I am proud to say that I have some beautiful little sprouts. I am hoping it will continue to grow and I will have fresh basil to use whenever I need it.
