Wimberley, 1st 2 Days

At the beginning of the summer, Tim and I wanted to get away for a few days for some R&R and after looking into a few trips to take, we decided to go back to our favorite little B&B in Texas, the Blair House Inn.  Just to let you know, I'm not really a B&B kind of girl but the 1st time we stayed there 3 or 4 years ago I realized it's not your typical B&B and we've been back every year.  I highly recommend it if you need a quick getaway in Tejas! It's so easy to just jump in the car and be there in a few hours.

We got in and went to Gruene to see about floating the river but the weather was pretty cloudy and actually a bit chilly so we headed over to some camp grounds overlooking the river and set up our chairs and had a few cold ones while watching tubers float by.  It was a great relaxing way to start our trip.

Heading into the Gristmill in Gruene.  We have yet to not make it to the Gristmill...the food is great, the views are great, its fun to watch a band at Gruene Hall but my only complaint is the drive back to the B&B.  It probably doesn't help that you have to go down a road called Purgatory and its pitch black!  I'm sure there has to be a better way back..we'll have to find it next time.

Every morning they serve a stellar breakfast and Tim being the super-loving hubby that he is, goes down to the main house to bring back a tray for us to eat on our porch.  We've been doing this since the 1st time we stayed here and it is the Best way to start your day! 

They have a trail that surrounds the property so we decided to run a few laps around it...

but, 1st you have to get up this gargantuan hill and whoa it is hard!  i thought i was in shape, but after 4 times of this i was done for the day! i tried to take a pic while tim was running it but it doesn't do it justice on how steep it is

the 2nd night we went up to Driftwood winery and enjoyed a bottle while overlooking this great scenery.  it's such a pretty place and it's so serene.  we were there close to closing time so we had the place pretty much to ourselves.

after the winery we went into dripping springs to have dinner at "rolling in thyme and dough".  we had been there for the most fantastic sunday brunch at kristen and kevin's wedding and then kitty and rich had gone back for another wedding soon after and they had dinner there on a thursday night and said that you could BYOW(wine) and they had live music.  perfect for us so we enjoyed a great night on their patio.

Nana Fun

the girls spent the night over at nana & papa's bcuz they were going with nana the next day up to market street to take a cookie/cupcake/sweets class with her.  avery was so excited!! she's been practically counting down the days til it was here.  nana made them the cutest aprons to wear there too!

The Little Mermaid

over the summer, the children's theater in plano performed "The Little Mermaid".  seeing that ariel is avery's favorite princess, we took her to see it.  it was so cute and all the kids sat on the floor in front of the seats so they could see it all.  and, you got to dress up as your favorite princess and then get a photo with the cast members after the show.  we had a lot of fun!!

after we dropped darmi off, tim and ella were taking naps at home so avery and i went to get her school supplies.  we had so much fun picking out all the different things on the list.  i love that kind of stuff.  amazing that we are buying her school supplies!!

Cissy's Princess Tea Party

for cissy's 5th birthday, she decided to have a princess tea party!  how perfect for the princesses that live in our house!  avery was so excited to get to dress-up and she picked to be cinderella for the tea.

ella is not so much into costumes yet and i knew it would come off b4 we even left the house so she got to wear this dress that nana had actually made for cissy when she was ella's age.  it said princess on it so  that was perfect for the party.

do you think ella is thinking that avery is a real princess?  yea, probably not.

surprisingly, ella held up pretty well at the big princess table and even managed to eat what was on her plate.  i keep looking at her as a baby but she's bigger than i think she is!

Funny Ella

Last night Avery spent the night at Nana & Papa's and while she was there we had Ella all to ourselves.  She is such a funny girl and I got her on video a couple of times hamming it up for the camera.  I think she did it even more because she was watching herself while I took the video...got to love that feature on the iPhone :)
